Exercise
Along with a balanced diet, physical activity is an important part of living a healthy lifestyle. Exercise doesn't have to be going to the gym or doing 200 press-ups, it’s about getting away from the game console, going outside and having fun moving around. On this page we will look at what exercise is, the calorie balancing act and how many calories various daily activities burn.
What is Exercise? Did you know you exercise all the time without even thinking about it? Just being active, like when you run around outside or play four square at school is exercise.
What else counts as exercise? Playing sports, dancing, doing sit-ups, and even bending over. When you exercise, you're building muscles and a stronger body that will be able to do all the stuff you need it to do throughout the day. Your heart is the muscle responsible for pumping oxygen-carrying blood cells around your body to all the different parts of the body. The more exercise you do, the better your heart will get at doing this highly important job. Doing aerobic exercise will help keep your heart active and healthy. Aerobics is exercise of moderate intensity over a decent length of time that will get lots of oxygen into your body.
